Heather Elton will teach the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary Series, both as a led class and Mysore style self-practice. A Vinyasa Flow class will be taught in the afternoons, and will integrate various meditation and pranayama techniques. The famous verse from the Yoga Sutras - yoga citta vritti nirodhah- means that yoga resolves the agitations of the mind. In each class, Heather integrates the 8 limbs of Ashtanga and teaches how to use breath, bandhas and focus to stabilize the mind. Students learn how to use the breath to move through difficult poses and feel safe enough to work honestly at their edge. You will study the inner and outer techniques of Vinyasa that tie the poses together in a moving meditation; use the breath to move through difficult poses and feel safe to work honestly at your edge; use yoga as a healing/transformational tool to move through fear, anger and emotions that harden the body and prevent us from be at ease in life. You will experience deep peace, insight and clarity. Suddenly, those cool asanas you have dreamed of doing become reality.
