YOGA RETREATS INDIA GOA

Brit Mølgaard

My yoga journey started about 9 years ago. In the beginning my practice I was mostly lost in the physical aspects of doing yoga. Over the years, as I discovered the more subtler benefits of yoga, my practice became a vital and integrated part of my everyday life. The practice as well as the lifestyle created a much-needed balance in my otherwise busy and stressful work-life. The physical yoga practice became my mental break where I could relax physically and mentally.

I have had many inspiring teachers throughout the years, but my main influences are the training I did with Yoga Family at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, as well as Chris Nelson here at Ashiyana.

Today I teach Hatha yoga with pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation as integrated parts of the class. My style is best described as "meditation in motion" but varies from time to time. Sometimes I teach a dynamic vinyasa inspired class but mostly it is a soothing meditative style that inspires the students to dive inside and cultivate a sense of balance and harmony from within. The overriding message is to bring the attention inside and move with awareness guided by the breath. My great interest in yoga philosophy and subtle anatomy (i.e. chakras) is often weaved in as themes in the classes.
