YOGA RETREATS INDIA GOA

December 17th - 27th ....... 10 days

The retreat will be offering 7 (19th-25th) days of teaching morning and evening.

Within the first few days of arrival at Ashyiana you will be offered the unique experience of a one to one physiotherapy/yoga analysis assessment with Suzy.
The analysis provides you with an opportunity to share any musculoskeletal or neurological problems that you may have and it also serves to help bring to your awareness any imbalances that are present in your body, whether present or potential, enabling you to have a deeper understanding of your self and your asana/posture practice.

Different yoga postures, areas of the body and pranayama (breathing techniques) will be explored to encourage wholeness in the practice of yoga.

Throughout the retreat there is a clear and simple message to trust in the process of change and transformation with the faith that you are always guided and completely supported.

There will also be a few workshop style sessions where you will be invited to work on your own practice, exploring those asanas/postures that you feel are more challenging or that you enjoy, whilst having the support of Suzy's guidance to help you move more deeply into postures or support change.

If there is a mutual interest of the whole group there will be the opportunity to explore the anatomy of postures in greater detail to help you to visualize your practice more deeply. This can be particularly useful and informative for yoga teachers and body workers.

It will be entirely up to you as to whether you attend all of the yoga classes as the retreat is ultimately a 'Re - treat' a time for you to move more deeply into your practice and yourselves, offering the opportunity for profound rest and stillness.

We will be exploring natural movement of the body which encourages asana/posture practice to flow from within as we let go of the habitual holding of tension.

Our structural framework is made up of muscles, bones and connective tissue/fascia. Our connective tissue, which is continuous throughout our body, is often referred to as our emotional brain and is a potential place of storing our tension.

Holding onto repetitive thought patterns, emotions and more negative ways of being tends to bring a 'stuck-ness' into ourselves and our lives and can impact on our relationships. On a physical level our connective tissue becomes less elastic, more dense and contracts, limiting fluid mobility and hence perpetuating our thought forms and turning them into more rigid concepts.

As we begin to let go, unravel and undo the deeply held tissues we can start to release not only on a physical level but emotionally and spiritually. This offering to ourselves supports a way of releasing old thoughts and emotions that are no longer useful to our growth.

Bringing the light of awareness into your practice and to areas that require more attention doesn't mean having to focus on something all the time but rather offers the body/mind the right conditions for positive change.

As one moves with lightness and dedication through their practice one can start to experience the abundance of ultimate surrender and unity which is the highest yoga.
