I am an independent yoga teacher with my own School of Yoga in Elsinore, Denmark. From here I teach classes, educate pupils to become yoga teachers, and from here I bring groups to either Mallorca or to Goa, to do intensive practices on my lovely yoga holidays.
My yoga history is long. In 1982 I discovered yoga to be absolutely mind freeing, and I couldn’t help but becoming a yoga teacher myself. For seven years I lived very close with my teachers in Denmark, joining yoga classes, doing Karma Yoga in our ashram and being filled up with the noble art of Jnana Yoga .
I have been teaching since 1984. From very early on I invented my own little sequences, not knowing anything about Vinyasa. It was not until Asthanga Vinyasa came to Denmark that I found a mirror, an open door to something I was looking for. Along with that I studied with many teachers during the years with other expressions of yoga and then I met Godfrey Devereux, and with his teachings a revolution happened in me. I truly died as a yoga teacher, got very depressed for some weeks, and then arose again to discover a much more integrated instruction coming from my mouth. Since then I have invited Godfrey to do his Teacher Training in Denmark, and of course learned… and is still learning.
In 2004 I joined a Teacher training in India, on “Body, Breath and Mind plus Yoga Therapy” with A.G. Mohan and his family.
From 2000 I have been training with Mary Stewart from Ireland. She knows nothing about yoga, but she is a person who has found peace of mind. From her I have learned the simplest things about living at peace, at ease with life, with love. So, what can I tell about my teachings? You’ll hear me instruct with a direct address to your nervous system and your muscles, leaving your thinking mind at peace in the background. You will be challenged to do simple, but deep vinyasas. You’ll hear me invite you to sense life, sense the goodness, the oneness which is actually there, in your experience, because the asana and the pranayama have eroded and eliminated tensions of fearing and hoping and wishing and prejudicing, leaving you full of life and intelligence. Now, that’s what I call yoga.
