Work Study “The Ashiyana Family”
Ashiyana is a community and a centre for personal growth, as well as being a business. The permanent community of staff is made up of local Goans, Indians from further afield, and foreigners from all corners of the globe. Of these, our Yoga teachers and therapists are invited into the Ashiyana family because of their compassion and sensitivity, as well as their particular skills. From next season they will have also become trained Yoga Therapists, by virtue of having completed the first part of the Elemental Yoga Therapy Training Course (EYT) .
EYT Training Course
Level 1 (150 hrs)
Run by Jai Garuda and Sofia Araujo, this training offers a deep insight into the profound wisdom which is reflected in all of Nature, exploring and teaching the Elemental principles and practices which may be brought into daily life to create stability, and to enrich our lives with energy and flow. This course is designed to serve and inspire Yoga Teachers, preferably with a background in the healing arts, who have a sincere desire to support others in their journey of self-development and healing.
There are two parts to the Course -
- EYT Level 1 runs for 18 days (described here) and represents the complete 150 hr Elemental Yoga Therapy Level 1 Course.
- The second part of the course is a 'Clinic Program' intended for those people who wish to work within the 'Ashiyana family' following the course. Successful aplicants would stay on after the 18 day EYT Level I course for a 14 day professional clinic that will give students the chance to work at the Spa and Treatment Centre with the full support and guidance of Jai and Sofia. This extended option of the EYT Level 1 Course is therefore a 32-day program.
If you only wish to attend the 18 day Level 1 EYT course, you are welcome to apply. All students who complete this are welcome to return and further their understanding of Yoga Therapy in any EYT Level 2 courses run by Jai and Sofia in India and Portugal. If during the training you decide to join the Clinic Program part of the course, this can also be arranged. Preference will be given to students wishing to complete the full 32 day Course, as well as the Level 2 course at a future date.
Whilst it is possible that not all students who attend the full 32 day course will be able to remain working for the rest of the season in the Goa centre, Ashiyana is looking to find therapists and teachers who wish to work with them at their other centres in Brazil and Rajasthan in coming seasons. (The Brazil Centre is due to open in June 2013.)
Both parts of the course are limited to 18 students and are residential, with accommodation at our centre. A healthy brunch and dinner are included in the 18 day Base Course, thereafter during the 14 day Clinic Program, only brunch is served, giving you the opportunity to explore this beautiful part of northern Goa with its fantastc restaurants.
If you are accepted directly into the Ashiyana family at the full course, then the cost of the course will be covered by your earnings during the season. It is our intention to create a genuine career path for our family of therapists, where they may earn and live well, and perhaps move between two or more of our centres in India and Brazil as they come on stream.
Price: 18 Days € 2150 32 Days €2600
Level 2 (October 2013 - 150 hrs)
EYT 2 builds on EYT 1 and offers a deeper look into the diagnostic skills that give Elemental Yoga Therapists the ability to work with more complex imbalances, and be able to shift through 'layers' of energies as they arise. It is run as a supervised Clinic, giving the students the chance to practice creating "Yoga as medicine" whilst receiving constant feedback and guidance from Jai and Sofia, in order to develop counseling skills for working deeper.
Level 2 completes the 500hrs EYT Training Course: 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher Training, plus the 300hrs which is taught in the EYT Courses (EYT 1 and EYT 2). Price TBC
