2x two hour yoga / therapeutic movement / Chi Gung workshops per day

There will always be one Iyengar-based yoga workshop a day, either in the morning or late afternoon. The Iyengar method is typified by focusing on correct alignment, holding the poses for long periods of time to experience the therapeutic benefit and by the use of props. There are 3 fully equipped yoga shalas in the grounds. Mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, chairs and blankets are all provided. There will be an opportunity for you to individually discuss your yoga experience and physical history with us so that we can tailor our workshops to your needs, either giving more introductions, corrections or challenges! Clothing should be comfortable and stretchy or loose enough for full body movement.

An 'Ayur Balance' massage (60 mins) with Elsa Silva

Ayur means 'life'. It’s a life balancing, enhancing, and enriching therapeutic work. The massage session is an integration of ancient Indian tradition and Ayurvedic wisdom combined with a scientific approach to body, mind and emotional wellbeing. The technical approach is with hands, fists, fingers, thumbs, knuckles, forearms and elbows, focusing on releasing hidden tensions, stress relief, detoxifying the organs and tissues. Blood circulation is re-channeled, opening up tight & asphyxiated muscle and tissue, releasing joints, clarifying prana and vitality, healing physical and emotional traumas, uplifting one to a state of balanced and serenely natural, free-flowing health.

Two beautiful buffet meals (brunch and dinner)

Ashiyana’s organic restaurant offers buffet meals with an excellent fusion of freshly-prepared Indian and Western vegetarian cuisine. Breakfast-brunch includes home-made muesli or porridge with curd (yoghurt), coconut/milk, fresh fruit salad, plus a daily menu selected from the following - toast, butter, cheese, honey, jam, patisserie, scrambled eggs, dhal, rice, salad, hummus, tahini, and other daily specials. Tea, coffee and juices. Fresh fish dishes are served twice a week. All water is filtered, including that used for cooking.

(Filtered water, hot lemon ginger and India masala chai is available at any time throughout the day and night!)
