Panchakarma (Ayurvedic Detox)
With our modern lifestyles we usually put more toxins into our bodies than can be removed efficiently. Over time the toxins build up, creating sluggish digestion, a disturbed mind, restlessness and poor health. Even if you feel that you are relatively healthy, detoxification is a wonderful preventative measure for ageing and future ill health.
Our objective is to assist you in:
- Feeling rejuvenated and calm through mental and physical purification and deep relaxation
- Losing weight/body fat
- Addressing common digestive disorders, such as constipation
- Reducing addictions and unwanted habits
- Keeping your skin well oxidised and fresh
- Increasing resistance to allergies
- Helping to cure and prevent disease and sickness
- Strengthening willpower and concentration
WHAT IS PANCHAKARMA?
Panchakarma is a specialized procedure of Ayurvedic treatment necessary for removing toxins and giving a healthy status to the body. It cleanses and detoxifies the body as well as improves digestion and metabolism.
Purva karma (preparatory procedures), pradhan karma (five important procedures) and pascat karma (post procedure) are the three steps of panchakarma. Pradhan karma comes after purva karma and constitutes the five procedures of Vaman (induced vomiting), Virechan (induced purgation), Basti (Herbal enema), Nasya (nasal medicine) and Rakta Mokshana (artificial bloodletting).
Virechana - 7 day Detox Programme (500 Eur)
Basti – 7 day Detox Programme (600 Eur)
Vamana – 10 day Detox Programme (700 Eur)
Virechana & Basti - 14 day Detox Programme (1050 Eur)
Things to consider before joining the above Detox Retreats:
You can choose your arrival dates as per your convenience. The detox process needs a minimum of 7 days – we always recommend to come with an extra couple of days (if possible) to rest before the programme starts, similarly to stay on a couple of days after the programme finishes. If you wish to stay for a 14 day programme, this will comprise 7 days of Virechana (or Vamana) and 7 days of Basti.
Your stay at Ashiyana also includes two yoga classes per day, but please keep in mind that during the process of detox, your body may not be up to participating in all of the classes; we encourage you to listen to your body and to take a lot of rest.
During the detox programme, you will have your own personalised diet plan, comprising simple and light food, suggested by our Doctor. Our kitchen staff will prepare your food especially – you will not be joining our regular buffet.
