Victoria gained her initial teaching certificate at Maida Vale in London in 2001, after a trip to the Iyengar institute in Pune, India. She was inspired to undertake the rigorous training in Iyengar Yoga, a style devised by the late B.K.S. Iyengar, author of the renowned guide, Light On Yoga. Victoria was impressed with the emphasis on alignment and by the guidance to work with the breath and so stay in the pose to lengthen the muscles and deepen the awareness.
During the past 20 years, Victoria has gained a loyal following in the UK, where she has taught at all levels of ability, from children to the elderly. She has taught those suffering from a multiplicity of ailments, from depression and migraines to musculoskeletal imbalances and neurological issues. She continues to develop her teaching through ongoing training and by visiting Pune regularly, where she has studied with B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar.
Victoria is a trained Buddhist meditator of the Tibetan tradition, having gained the Beginner’s certificate at Jamyang in London in 2000. She is also an Insight Meditation practitioner and a regular attendee at Gaia House in Devon in the UK.
